Free llms.txt Validator
Check whether your llms.txt actually works. We fetch it, validate it against the convention, test the links in it, and tell you what to fix. Free, no sign-up to check.
What we found
The fix list
In the order worth doing them.
Sent. Your download should have started.
We read your public llms.txt and sample up to 12 of the links in it. Nothing is stored beyond a one-hour cache of the result.
What this does
It fetches /llms.txt from the domain you enter, validates it against the
llms.txt convention, tests a sample of the links inside it, and gives you a
list of findings with a fix for each one.
Nothing is stored beyond a one-hour cache of the result, which is short on purpose because people run this while they are fixing things and a stale pass is worse than waiting.
The three checks worth having
Is it really there. Present at the root, served as text, and not blocked by your own robots.txt. That last one catches sites that publish a file nothing is allowed to read.
Is it served as text or as HTML. This is the failure I would most want to catch for you. A catch-all route answering with status 200 hands over your site’s HTML shell, so the file looks present in a browser and is unusable to anything parsing it. We test the body rather than the Content-Type header, because the body is what gets parsed.
Do the links work. We check up to twelve of them live, in parallel. A dead link inside a file that presents itself as an authoritative map of your site is worse than no file.
The honest position on llms.txt
It is a convention, not a standard. No AI system is obliged to read it, and the evidence that any particular one does is thinner than the enthusiasm suggests.
I still think it is worth publishing, for the same reason a tidy robots.txt is worth having. It
costs almost nothing, it takes an hour to get right, and it removes an excuse. What it will not do
is move you up anything. Entity clarity and third-party corroboration decide whether a model names
you, and a text file at your root does not substitute for either.
So treat a clean result here as one cheap item ticked off, not as AI visibility solved.
If you have not got one yet
Use the llms.txt generator first. It reads your sitemap and gives you a
structured draft with the sections laid out and every description marked REPLACE THIS.
Then finish it, publish it, and check it here. The validator looks for that marker specifically, because publishing the unfinished draft is the obvious way this goes wrong.

Most companies have never looked. Our score reads the same public signals ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude use when they decide who to recommend, then shows you the specific gaps keeping you out of the answer. About a minute. No email needed to see your score.
